Ze... "Je Ne Sais Quoi"...

So living in France has all about magic as it has about scary!

Starting with the language.

In the same sentence I can call someone "tu" et "vous" just because I'm not using the correct accent. It's really difficult to explain this in English since the language doesn't have these formalities. But it can be quite embarrassing, specially when people expect to be treated according to their age or status.

Feeling silly and like having speech problems trying my best pronunciation, I finally realise that they are ok with that when they ask Where is that lovely accent coming from?... !!!!

So,

french people are not that rude as we hear all over the world. And I don't say that because my partner is french. They do hold the doors and wait for you if you're coming right after them. And they do stop the metro door if you're running to catch the train! Once, someone even randomly "blessed me" after I sneeze on the street.

French people can be as lovely as the polite and cordial English; but they can be as rude as the Italian working in the public service. Or as proud as a portuguese when Cristiano Ronaldo's is playing.

I don't want to write an ode to french people, but I have to admit that, so far, I haven't had any unpleasant experience. Because I believe that happy people (and unhappy!) live actually everywhere, and they can be from no matter which nationality!

About magic... the food, yes. That's not a myth. The trilogy bread, cheese and wine is real.

But I will dedicate a post to which one of them individually!

Living close to Paris, I have the change to be in a multicultural environment. We hear different languages and see many styles. So that doesn't shock me as I'm coming from England. It actually makes me feel... home !?

I enjoy just observing people and watch life going on in a big city, where different cultures and religions live together, as well as the rush contrasts with the beauty.

There would be many other things to say about living in France... but I have to save them for the next episodes...
